While WSU is a very diverse, historic university with a lot of educational avenues and opportunities, I felt as though it was unorganized at times (mainly with communication between staff, admin, and students), and there were few resources for off-campus students (which makes up a substantial portion of the student body). I enjoyed my short time there as I finished my undergrad (albeit 80% online due to the pandemic). They made attempts to assist in providing me with what I needed to have a fulfilling degree path, but there were a lot of unnecessary steps that cost me semesters of time and money. I think this is a university dedicated to studies and cultural enrichment rather than sports or nightlife which I did appreciate. There was always an abundance of opportunities to get involved in the community, chances to be a part of historical moves (world record periodic table for example), and the diversity of the student body and faculty allowed for a very inclusive experience.

Wayne State is in the heart of Detroit! It's about 3 miles from downtown, where Comerica Park and the LCA are. There are several yummy places to eat and free transportation on the Qline. These are just some of the extra perks of the campus. Overall, my experience with WSU was unique in an extraordinary way. I was given so many wonderful opportunities that I pursued my Ph.D.

Wayne state has many positive attributes such as the diversity and location. Despite what many may think about the Detroit location, the campus is very safe and provided a great experience for students. I wish the students were more social. Most importantly I would like to see a better financial aid program. Although they offer an impressive amount of aid, the process to get it is very difficult and many students complain about this.
